My first experience painting was plein air of the Pacific Coast Peninsula halfway between Powell River and Lund, BC. My medium was an acrylic paint kit and a large piece of plywood. Without being aware and having had no training I learned by painting the same ocean view; seeing but not knowing; how time affects colour. Switching between water colour and acrylic, I continued to paint seascapes.
For the next five years I produced hundreds of palette knife paintings using Coastal Blues, Greys and Golds. My Umbrella Series sold out at my solo art show and I sold the majority of my paintings before I moved to the South Okanagan.
Now a South Okanagan painter, my style has changed considerably. I still work with colour and in an Impressionistic/Expressionistic way. My art has finally begun to flow.
Before moving to the Okanagan I had a successful career sourcing products for Commercial Interior Designer's projects as well as project managing my own corporate accounts.
